Nairobi Metropolitan Chapter Celebrating International Women’s Day at Machakos Women’s Prison

Nairobi Metropolitan Chapter on 11/03/2023 visited the Machakos Women’s Prison to celebrate them as we commemorate International Women’s Day. The happiness in their faces after receiving the assorted package of gifts brought to them affirms our desire to keep doing good and touching lives of the less fortunate in our society.

The importance of prison visitation extend beyond maintaining of social and familial relationships. Research suggests that visiting people while incarcerated is associated with a number of positive behavioral outcomes such as reduction in institutional offending, increases in inmate mental and physical well-being as well as increases in successful reintegration to their communities.

As we give back to the society, we always give back to the environment by planting trees during our activities and events.
